Nick Tahou's Hots
Nick Tahou's Hots is the best burger joint in all of Western New York. It stays open 24 hours a day 7 days a week only closing on major holidays and for 10 days in the summer so they can clean it. Since it stays open all that time they never do a thorough cleaning job during the year so its very dirty. Theres two Tahou's locations, one is downtown and the other is located in Gates. They actually made a law that says the downtown location had to close at 8pm because people were getting killed their nightly. Tahou's busiest time of the day is between 10pm and 3am because drunk and high people stumble in looking for lots of cheap food. Its rumored that Nick Tahou created the signature garbage plate from food that was left over at the end of the day. The standard garbage plate is macaroni salad and home fries with two cheeseburgers on top. They then put mustard and onions on top of this along with a meat hot sauce that is pure grease. This standard plate is called the "cheeseburger plate," you can get all sorts of plates including a red hot plate (hot dog plate), a white hot plate (an all pork hot dog plate), and even a meatless plate. The garbage plate only costs six dollars and is a huge amount of food, its basically a foam to-go tray packed solid with stuff. The pictures below were taken on two seperate trips to Tahou's.
